Well done to everyone that took part in last week's Turkey Burner IV.
Some serious distances were covered - with 11,362 km by the Elivar Bike Club and 976 km by the Elivar Run Club.
Running Club Winners (drum roll…)
Overall Distance: Lee Cartmell who posted a very impressive 146 km spread over 9 runs with the longest being 42.4 km - which very nearly won the longest Distance!
Longest Run: Jamie Oliver with a 42.8 km mega run!
Cycling Club Winners
Overall Distance: Rachael Elliott whose 630.0 km delivered her second Turkey Burner win in a row - having already biked away with last years Overall Distance prize.
Longest Ride: Robert Crank set the bar pretty high with his 177.3 km spin although long-time friend of Elivar Ralph Cullen in second place had a Garmin-fail on his 200km MTB ride though Holland which would have seen him on top of the leader board had it uploaded correctly - bummer!
Not Happy With Just One Leaderboard?
We thought it was worth highlighting some of the people who put in a good shift on both club’s Leaderboard such as John Bullard, James Farren, Noel D and of course our very own Featured Athlete Matt Fisher

We never liked gels here at Elivar HQ
They were the epitome of unhealthy - a turbo charged sugar bomb designed to deliver as much sugar as possible into our blood stream. The result for many a marathon runner, cyclist or triathlete was stomach upset and cramps, bloating and the long term damage of repeat insulin spikes during exercise.
It's a fact - it takes longer to recover as we age.
That doesn't mean we need to do less. It means we should pay more attention to the kinds of nutrients we're providing our body. If you're finding that it is getting a little harder to recover from your favorite session, it may be your recovery drink that needs to change - not the session!
