Matt kick started his athletic career after his 36th birthday. Wanting to embrace a healthier lifestyle Matt started running. It wasn’t until 2010 when he decided to compete in his first triathlon. A year later Matt was named to the Great Britain Age Group team. As VP for Marketing with an international software company Matt tries to find a balance between a working life that involves travel and training around 13 hours a week. In an ideal week Matt also tries to work on individual Triathlon elements.
2016 will see Matt focus on a return to speed as he alters his schedule due to work and family commitments with shorter races are on the cards. After spending the winter being schooled on the Cyclocross scene, Matt is hoping to build up to a strong performance in some late-season 70.3 races, including the new Ironman 70.3 Weymouth.
